and i'm reminded of past relationships
when the abandoned still had its charm
when vodka and 3am didn't need a taxi

i'm too defensive on the phone
and too offensive in person
for even coffee to be still
when trains full of memories
tear at the ground violently
like farm animals at a slaughter
