a conscience or some such healthy thing

i try to remember
the statistics on civilians dead
knowing that the whole wheat bread
will just turn to fat in my stomach

got singles and condoms in my pocket
and a stupid smile on my face
beef jerky has the worst after-taste
and so does the thought of innocent people tortured
